Sims 4 has already demonstrated that it's fine to release a game missing dozens of core features that they can simply patch in later like it's in Early Release. Sims 3 and all it's expansions and stuff packs costs over $500 to buy - I have never supported the idea of having to buy crappy packs like 'Katy Perry's Sweet Treats'. I'd be happy to pay for it - if it wasn't basically blind robbery for increasingly little content besides a couple of items and interactions, especially for non US residents who have to pay RIDICULOUS money for this stuff (Sims 4 still sells for $100 here). I said nowhere in any of my replies about this that I think this should be free.

I think you're vastly overestimating the supposedly difficulty, considering that these are professional developers and artists working on a professional game series. They supposedly have an entire team dedicated to producing content for stuff packs so why is there simply SO LITTLE content for each one? They have MORE than enough artists and developers on team to release much more content than this it's nowhere near a matter of them 'not having enough artists or coders or time for it'. A handful of bland undetailed furniture? Great. Stuff packs are just another way for EA to prophet off people while spending the least amount of effort they can.
I'm actually a 3d character artist working on several indie dev projects so your assumption about me 'not getting' the work load is great. Think TS2, where cars came in an expansion, which meant that the game only ever got six car models, as opposed to TS3 35-ish cars.

I'm definitely not liking the idea that cars might come in an expansion, GP or SP, rather than a free update, because that probably means the idea won't be expanded on. It's not FreeTime, or Generations, or Hot Date or whatever. It's not a good successor to Nightlife or Late Night. It's a bunch of ideas duct taped together. Just look at Get Together it's nothing, really. This wouldn't really happen with Store sets.Īlso, I don't like it how "major" features like hot tubs or vacationing are being included in SPs and GPs rather than EPs, because that essentially means there's much less space left for the EPs to fill. People feel more pressured to buy a Stuff pack than a Store set, which means that a ton of stuff on the Gallery will require lots of Stuff Packs (in the long run), which means that people will feel left out if they don't have everything (trust me, I've been there). I got the stuff I wanted but left the other stuff alone so my game didn't get too overloaded Or maybe there won't so then don't buy them.Īt this point the stuff packs are a lot like the older store sets.
Im sure there will be be stuff packs that appeal to you later. So suck it up buttercup, people have different play styles to you and thats ok. It stops them getting caught up in what people are saying vs how they are playing. Checking out how people actually play is a great idea. They try to make something they fun and enjoyable that a lot of people really enjoy but the extremely vocal minority whining about the same shit over and over really drown out the people that appreciate the game and the work that goes into it. Maybe I will get this stuff pack, maybe I won't but theres little point getting so angry/catty about it that you feel the need to leave two separate negative comments on the same post. I like everything so far I've bought for Sims 4.
Sure it has its faults but what game is without those. Maybe, just maybe people are buying the game because they love it.
I've been playing since 1 and I've never had a complete collection. How is it lazy to check what we as players are enjoying in the game? Most people don't buy everything they release and never have.
